In Lyon
The Émile Cohl School is located in the eastern part of Lyon, on a former industrial wasteland of 7 hectares at the crossroads of the Montchat, Monplaisir, and Grange Blanche neighborhoods.
The modern building, which the school’s management had constructed on the site of a century-old factory (retaining its metal frameworks and part of the shed roof), provides students with ample space to work.
The school covers an area of 8,000 m²:
- 19 drawing workshops
- Two sculpture rooms
- Two amphitheaters, one with a control room
- A large exhibition hall and student common area
- Eight computer labs
- A computer amphitheater with 72 stations
- An open space dedicated to 5th-year students
- A voice recording booth
- Technical rooms: reprography, title benches, engraving, molding, stop motion
- A library
- An office for the Center for Research and Inter-Media History (CRHI)
- A faculty lounge
- An administrative area
- A bicycle parking area
- An association room for the purchasing center
- A space dedicated to continuing education
The school is ideally located, adjacent to the Zénith park (Lyon 3rd), a public library, and four training centers (SEPR, Afpia Lyon, the Compagnons du Tour de France in Lyon, and Croix-Rouge Compétence Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), collectively forming the largest campus dedicated to professional learning in France.
